Alert One - Activity Alerts

What is it?

This menu option allows you to set up the sending of customised SMS messages whenever an activity occurs (PIN entry, authorised user calls into the panel).

Adding Activity Alerts

To add a new activity alert, select Activity Alerts from the main options menu. From here, click the green ADD ACTIVITY ALERT button at the bottom of the screen.

On the next page, select the alert number you would like to set up. Next, select which activity will trigger your alert text - either Incoming Number or Entry Code.

Next, enter the message you want to be sent when this happens. Since many different activities can use the same activity alert, information pertaining to the particular trigger source may be included in the message using placeholders. The system automatically substitutes the relevant data as the SMS is being constructed just before it is sent.

Substitutions occur where an @ symbol followed by a letter are placed within the alert message. The following list shows the various placeholders and what they do:

  • @C - This will be replaced with the PIN code.
  • @N - This will be replaced with the name of the entry.
  • @P - This will be replaced by the panel number being used.
  • @T - This will be replaced by the time in "HH:MM" format.
  • @D - This will be replaced by the date in "Day, DD/Mmm/YYYY" format (e.g. Mon, 18/Jan/2021).

For example, your message might read "@N gained entry via code @C at @T on @D". The message is identical for all recepients.

You can set up a Follow On Alert if you want to send an alternative message to alternative numbers regarding the same event. To do this, tick the box labelled 'Follow On Alert?' and enter the activity alert number. A follow on alert must be of the same type as the alert triggering it. This will be triggered after the initial alert has been sent.

Finally, enter the phone numbers that will be recieving this message. If you need to send to more than 3 numbers, you can click the green + arrow to add another number. You can do this up to a maximum of 10 numbers.

Once you have filled in all the required info, click the green ‘SEND COMMAND’ button at the bottom of the screen. You will then be taken to your SMS app with a text pre-generated to be sent. Click send on your SMS app to send this info to the panel. You should receive a reply from the panel when the info has been added.

Editing Existing Activity Alerts

To edit an existing activity alert, select Activity Alerts from the main options menu. From the list shown, select the activity alert you would like to edit. On the next page, change any details you wish to edit.

Once done, click the green SEND COMMAND button at the bottom of the screen. You will then be taken to your SMS app with a text pre-generated to be sent. Click send on your SMS app to send this info to the panel. You should receive a reply from the panel when the info has been updated.

Deleting Activity Alerts

To delete an existing activity alert, select Activity Alerts from the main options menu. In the list, simply swipe left or right on the activity alert you would like to delete. You will then be taken to your SMS app with a text pre-generated to be sent. Click send on your SMS app to send to the panel.
